The Patiala State Bank was established as a state owned bank by the late Maharaja of Patiala H.H. Bhupinder Singh in the year 1917. Later in 1948 when Patiala became part of the Punjab State Union the became under the direct control of Reserve Bank of India. In 1960 the bank became subsidiary of State Bank of India and since then it has grown significantly in volume of business and customer base.
